The chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Sam Anyanwu, has disclosed that the committee will next week resume its investigative hearing on allegation of N2 trillion fraud against the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde.
Anyanwu ( PDP Imo East) also said while chatting with Senate correspondents yesterday that there is no petition against the chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal ( CCT), Danladi Umar, before his committee.
The senator explained that the investigative hearing of the fraud allegation against Lamorde was delayed because of the one month recess of the Senate and because it has been preoccupied with the ministerial screening since resumption in September.
“The EFCC chairman will appear before us next week over a petition bordering on alleged fraud levelled against him by George Uboh,” he said.
“You will recall that when the petitioner appeared before us on the 26th of August to make his submissions on the alleged fraud against the EFCC boss.
